01 / THE QUICK VIEW
Your direct booking brand.
Website building, reservation management and channel syncing in a connected workflow. Worth exploring when your own booking website is an important part of the plan.

02 / THE EVERYDAY WORK
Look beyond the feature list.
Your booking website
Build a sample property page and complete a mobile test booking. Check your domain, content editing, payment setup and how the guest sees the total price.
Channel management
Check the connection type for every channel you use. API connections and iCal feeds may carry different information and update differently.
Growing the operation
Ask which messaging, task, owner and reporting features are native, which are plan-dependent and which require a separate integration.
03 / STRENGTHS & CHECKS
The useful details, upfront.
Reasons to explore
- A website builder and booking engine designed for vacation rentals.
- Channel management for availability, prices and reservations.
- Reservation and guest communication tools in the same product.
Before you commit
- Compare booking fees, payment charges and billing terms across plans.
- Check whether your required workflows need a higher plan or integration.
- Test mobile booking, cancellation rules and the payment flow before launch.
FROM WEBSITE TO OPERATION
Cover what happens after checkout.
A booking website must lead to the correct payment record, guest instructions and turnover work. Choose around that sequence instead of selecting a template first and discovering operational limits later.
| Plan | Published distinction | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | One-property limit. | Do not assume the entry plan fits a portfolio or includes every website tool. |
| Starter | Up to two properties; website builder and booking widget. | A starting point when the booking website is the immediate task. |
| Professional | Automated messages and broader operational scope. | Check this tier when the site also needs routine communication workflows. |
| Ultimate | Team and owner workflows, including statements. | Review reporting and task requirements with the people using them. |
The pricing page states 0% Lodgify booking commission. Processing and optional services can still cost money. Get a quote for your property count, billing period and plan. An entry-price headline is not a portfolio budget.
INSPECT THE GUEST JOURNEY
Test a property page with a real decision in mind.
Find the right stay
Use your own amenities and house rules. Can a guest distinguish similar properties before choosing dates?
Understand the total
Try short, long and unavailable stays. Compare the checkout total with the confirmation.
Know the next step
Inspect payment timing, cancellation information and the next guest message.
Use an approved test method without unintended live charges. Repeat the journey on a small phone screen with the keyboard open. Check that guests can review their dates and the total without losing what they entered.
If you already have a site, decide whether to replace it or embed a booking widget. Keep control of the domain and inventory existing property URLs. Redirect changed addresses to relevant replacements so a guest’s saved property link still works.
A polished property page helps a guest choose. A dependable booking flow helps you deliver the stay.
THE WORK BEHIND THE WEBSITE
Confirm who sees and changes each booking.
The Ultimate documentation covers team and owner workflows. Review an owner statement and a cleaning assignment separately. A report does not prove that a cleaner has appropriate access; a completed task does not establish that the accounts reconcile.
| Workstream | Keep this evidence |
|---|---|
| Channels | Supported fields: availability, rates, restrictions, content and messages. |
| Team | An assignment, a reassignment and the view available to each role. |
| Owner reporting | A statement with a cleaning expense, cancellation and management fee. |
| Devices | Supported lock model, connection requirements and add-on price. |
Smart locks are offered as an add-on. Verify the model and who handles connection failures before buying hardware. If another system controls access codes, decide which workflow should remain authoritative.
Starter lists email support; Professional adds phone; Ultimate lists priority options. These are access channels, not measured response times. Resolve a genuine setup question during the trial and retain the answer with your implementation notes.
A QUOTE YOU CAN COMPARE
Use one property count and billing basis.
Ask for the monthly amount and the total due upfront if considering annual payment. Record renewal, the cost of adding a property and cancellation terms. Include processing, domain costs and integrations that remain necessary.
A website does not create demand on its own. Treat photography, copy and marketing as separate work. Do not count hoped-for bookings as savings. Establish what the current operating process will cost and which manual steps will actually disappear.
Continue to the two-product cost comparison for an evaluation on matched assumptions. This overview focuses on assessing Lodgify itself.
BUILD A PAGE THAT ANSWERS QUESTIONS
Describe the stay before decorating the website.

Prepare a content sheet for each rental before moving it into the website builder. Record bedrooms, actual sleeping arrangements, bathrooms, stairs, parking, outdoor space and important restrictions. Distinguish a private amenity from a shared one. A shared courtyard pool and a private pool create different expectations, even when both fit a broad “pool” filter.
Show the arrival experience as well as the most attractive view. For a seaside apartment, a guest may need to understand the stairs, balcony layout and distance to the waterfront. Describe distances using a consistent basis, such as a measured walking route, and avoid unsupported “steps from the beach” claims. Photographs should match the accommodation the guest will receive.
Keep illustrative images out of real listings
The generated property scenes on Nest Atlas illustrate hosting situations. They are not photographs of bookable accommodation. On your own booking website, use current, representative photographs of the actual property and identify anything that is only a proposed improvement.
Organize images around the guest’s decision
Choose an opening image that makes the accommodation understandable, then show the main living area, bedrooms, bathroom and relevant outdoor space. Include useful context instead of repeating similar wide shots. Add brief captions when a photo cannot explain whether a facility is private, shared or seasonal.
Retain original files and prepare appropriate web sizes. Inspect the actual published page on a phone: a wide room image may crop away a bed or doorway in a narrow card. Descriptive alternative text should explain the visible scene without stuffing the property name into every image.
BEFORE YOU INVITE GUESTS
Check the complete offer on a small screen.
Bring one ordinary stay and one awkward stay to the Lodgify demonstration. The ordinary stay establishes the expected flow. The awkward stay might cross a seasonal rate change, include an additional guest or end on a restricted departure day. Ask which settings control the result, then inspect the price a guest sees. This is a test script, not a claim that every configuration is available in every plan.
Read the offer without background knowledge
Ask someone unfamiliar with the rental to identify the sleeping arrangement, total price and cancellation terms. Record unanswered questions instead of explaining the page verbally. Those gaps are candidates for clearer content or settings.
Follow confirmation and payment
Use the provider’s approved test process. Match dates, guest count, payment timing and outstanding balance between the checkout and confirmation. Establish where you would correct an error and who communicates the correction.
Trace the resulting work
Check which reservation record, message and task the transaction creates. A useful launch check ends with the team knowing what to do next, not simply with a successful payment screen.
Give the new channel a realistic launch plan
Start with existing demand you can legitimately reach, such as people who already visit your website. Keep the source of an enquiry or reservation in your records. Do not assume that a change in total bookings was caused by the new site when rates, season or channel availability also changed.
After launch, review incomplete enquiries and recurring guest questions. A confusing fee description may need better wording; unavailable dates may simply reflect booked inventory. Distinguish presentation problems from demand problems before paying for a redesign or adding another tool.
For renewal, retain the website setup cost, ongoing subscription, processing charges and any remaining services. Compare these with actual operating needs, not projected commissions alone. Use the review step in our selection guide to decide what to keep and what to adjust.
04 / YOUR NEXT STEP
Bring a real workflow to the demo.
Use one representative property
Choose a listing with your typical fees, channels, arrival process and turnover requirements. A simpler sample can hide the work you actually need to automate.
Follow a reservation end to end
Check confirmation messages, payments, date changes, cleaning tasks and checkout. Include one cancellation and one message that needs a human response.
Get the full cost in writing
Ask for the subscription, booking and payment charges, onboarding, optional integrations and renewal conditions for your portfolio.
Plan the switch carefully
Keep a record of future bookings. Agree on channel connection order and verify calendars and payments before retiring the old workflow.
05 / FOLLOW THE EVIDENCE
Official sources.
This overview summarizes publicly documented capabilities. It does not claim a hands-on test or guaranteed results. Plan availability and local payment support should be confirmed directly.
